How to Grow Sales When You’re Starting a Business From Scratch

The main objective at this stage is simple: get more sales.

I see a lot of new business owners spend too much time trying to claim extra expenses or find ways to include personal costs in the business. I get it — but the hard truth is that a few hundred dollars in tax savings isn’t going to change your business. More sales will.

You need to prove that people will pay for what you’re offering. That’s the work right now.

Start here

Identify three places where your ideal clients spend their time. That’s where you need to show up — consistently.

Then build a repeatable process for getting in front of them. It might take 500 approaches to land a client, or it might take five. The number doesn’t matter as much as the consistency. Sales methods that seem like they’re not working usually just haven’t been given enough time.

I’ve got clients through cold email, LinkedIn, Google Ads, Instagram, in-person networking, and using an agency. All of them work. None of them work if you do them half-heartedly for three weeks and give up.

Pick one channel and commit to it for three to six months. That might mean sending 50 emails a day, every day. Not five emails twice a week. Volume and consistency are what separate the businesses that make it from the ones that don’t.
